More Ticket Troubles with Hannah Montana

Hannah MontanaThe concert everyone wanted to see will soon become the movie fans will be forced to miss. , star of and big-selling concert songstress, will soon be on the big screen. The Montana movie comes out February 1, but it’s only scheduled to run for a single week. Tickets have been on sale since December 1, and already fans are treating them like pieces of the true cross. Tickets are selling (and selling out) online and at box offices.

The movie, Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour, will feature clips of Miley’s nationwide tour that caused a summer sensation. Meanwhile, has offered no information as to whether the movie will also be released on DVD.

Independent films and other genre films are often released for only one week, and some say such a short release time helps the market from becoming oversaturated. Hannah Montana? Oversaturated? That ship has sailed.

Six-Year-Old Tricks ‘Hannah Montana’ Star

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Kids, Music, Cable, Gossip,

Miley CyrusA young fan won the contest of a lifetime when she submitted her essay about her father’s tour of duty in Iraq, which culminated in his demise. The six-year-old won four highly coveted tickets to a Miley concert and even got a makeover as part of the package. There’s just one problem: the essay wasn’t true. Okay, so maybe the child’s mother thought is was a creative writing contest. That’s easily confused…right?

When asked by contest officials if the essay was true, the child’s mother admitted outright that it was not. Because of this admission, the six-year-old will no longer attend the concert.  Her award has been withdrawn and will be offered to another contestant.

‘Hannah Montana’ Star Sued

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Kids, Music, Cable, News,

Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana, 14-year-old daughter to Achy Breaky Billy Ray Cyrus, is being sued by her fans. Yes, even the darling isn’t immune to outrage.

According to the lawsuit, fan club membership was supposed to guarantee concert tickets to the Hannah Montana tour. It didn’t, so now they’re suing. The action was started by a woman in New Jersey who has invited other jilted fans to join the cause.  The suit claims fans were deceived and “lured” into buying memberships to the Miley Cyrus Fan Club, which costs $29.95 annually.

The Hannah Montana star has been selling tickets like hotcakes; many of her engagements have sold out within minutes.

Achy Breaky Reality Show

Posted by Wendy Michaels Categories: Comedy, Kids, Music, Prime Time, Reality, Cable,

DescriptionWho would’ve thought that “Achy Breaky Heart” singer and mullet wearer-extraordinaire, Billy Ray Cyrus, would ever make a comeback? With the starring role on the series Doc on PAX TV, a handful of guest appearances and now, most notably, a role on , is officially back. And he’s not just riding daughter coattails now. He’s taking his return to fame and running with it—with a new reality series, of course. Cyrus is working with CMT to develop a reality show that shows his life as a musician and dad. The show, titled Billy Ray Cyrus: Home at Last, doesn’t seem like it will be nearly as entertaining as Being Bobby Brown, but I’m sure he’ll tap into loads of fans on . Plus, viewers will get a behind-the-scenes look at daddy getting ready to tour and Miley/Hannah getting set to tour. The show will debut on November 24th at 9:30 p.m.

Brush Your Teeth With Hannah Montana

Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Smart Home, Misc. Tech, Music,

MC ToothbrushFile this one under anything to make a buck. We can handle a Bono iPod, or an Armani cell phone, but a Miley Cyrus Toothbrush? The harder you brush, the louder it “sings” for up to a total of 2 minutes of “Pumpin’ Up the Party.” We’re not sure we can deal with that much of the tween idol at one time, but thank goodness after you invest in the brush for $9.99, both the brush head and batteries are non-replaceable. Ashley Tisdale and Hilary Duff models are also available at Hasbro. We think we will wait for a more rocking version, perhaps with the Stones’ “Mother’s Little Helper.”

‘Hannah Montana’ Tour Outselling The Police, Springsteen

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Kids, Cable,

Hannah MontanaIt’s not uncommon for a movie to outperform its competition—so should we be surprised that the hottest concert tour this year is being headlined by a Disney Channel star?

The (a.k.a. ) tour is so successful, scalpers are already selling her concert tickets at five times the face value.  Seats for all 54 stops have already sold out—and in several cases, in near record fashion.  (It took only four minutes in the Atlanta-area and eight minutes in Memphis.)  According the Associated Press, her tour is outselling The Police, Bruce Springsteen and Justin Timberlake.

Okay, the Spice Girls did just sell out their London concert in only 38 seconds—but let’s remember:  Hannah/Miley’s only 14.

The 59th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards Coverage

Emmy AwardsThe 59th Annual Emmy Awards has not even started, yet I’m already sensing sensing a weird vibe about tonight’s telecast.  Will the show be a celebration of those young and new (e.g. Heroes)?  Will it be a tribute to those bowing out (James Gandolfini and crew)?  Or will performer Kanye West somehow manage to cast a controversial shadow over the rest of the ceremony?

What a difference a year makes.  Twelve months ago, we were still handing out trophies to stars from Will & Grace and The West Wing (those shows feel so five-years ago now).  Today, we welcome a new crop of nominees including Ugly Betty and 30 Rock for Best ComedyLast year, we were entertained by an always-hilarious Conan O’Brien.  This year, we are threatened by a song and dance number from this year’s host, Ryan Seacrest.  Last August, 24 snagged the award for Best Drama.  This September, it’s not even nominated (yet somehow Boston Legal is).

I think it would be safe to assume the voters would predictably (and respectfully) shower The Sopranos with honors, but I’ll still be crossing my fingers for an upset sometime tonight.  We’ll need something to talk about tomorrow…

Here’s the play-by-play of tonight’s events coming to you from the neglected West Coast!

Hannah Montana: The First Day One Game You’ll Buy “For Your Little Sister”

Okay, the game is Hannah Montana. But subtitled “Music Jam,” this game looks like a portable including recording capabilities, four different instruments, wireless multiplayer and some really cool gameplay. There’s really no reason to be ashamed if you end up excited about this game. Except, you know, the teeny bopper license and the fact that any guy over 13 who buys this will get a lot of really suspicious looks from game store clerks.

Still, the guy demoing the game in the video is not a wuss and would totally beat you up, so if he’s comfortable playing it, you should be too.

Or, you could hold out and hope that Disney Interactive wisely re-brands this down the road with something a little less emasculating or at the very least a little less “middle school.”
